Raised on a farm in rural Washington, his family's love for cinema helped Cole not only discover his passion for filmmaking, but desire to explore the world. He catapulted straight from film school into an award-winning director, creating work for leading brands such as American Express, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Renault, Johnson & Johnson, RE/MAX and Oreo.
In 2021, Cole won AICP Show’s Advertising Excellence/Single Award for “The Epidemic”, the Anti-Bullying PSA created in partnership with Monica Lewinsky and BBDO NY. Additionally, his commercials "Agape" for NY Life and "The Journey" for 84 Lumber had premieres during the Super Bowl, solidifying his status as a creative force in the industry. Cole's career has garnered him every major industry accolade, including the Cannes Lion, Clio, AICP, One Show, and D&AD, while also earning him Shoot Magazine's New Director Award.
Cole's feature directorial debut, OMAHA, was developed in-house at Sanctuary, and premiered in dramtatic competition at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. The film stars John Magaro (PAST LIVES, SEPTEMBER 5) and masterfully navigates the complexities of grief, mental health, and the transformative power of a family journey across the American West. OMAHA toured the world in over 50 festivals and is being distributed by Greenwich Entertainent here in the US and will be in theaters on April 24, 2026.
